I haven't had much time for doing work on my Ballet BunBuns Facebook page in the past 12 months, but have decided to give myself a kick up the bum and update the page and do some new sketches of the BunBuns.
I have a mad rush of orders for Christmas decorations and gifts - my current commissions list has 8 portraits, 35 shed signs, and an assortment of 2D and 3D baubles and stars on it - I've lost count! This is a set of 2D baubles with pet portraits on that I've just finished.
I finally got organised enough to get the 2015 calendar of Dandelion's Gallery artwork organised - yay! The cover features my Botticelli Bunnies as The Birth of Venus, and the months inside feature assorted drawing and paintings in various styles / themes.
I made sure I included the ever popular Rabbit Island and Binky Bunnies in the Rowing Boat, as well as a couple of portraits of bunnies, and some Degas Ballerina bunnies.
A calendar has been donated to The Bunny Bank to help raise funds for rabbit rescues in the UK, one has been given to my mum (or she would never forgive me!) and the rest are up for sale in my Folksy shop: https://folksy.com/shops/DandelionsGallery

Well, my intentions were good, but between a house move and the start of the Christmas rush I just haven't had much free time. I'm snowed under with personalised pet baubles and stars and shed signs, plus a few portraits - it's good to be busy!
I have neglected this page way too much - it's about time I started using it properly!
So, what have I been up to lately?
I've finished a pile of customised animal signs, several small portrait commissions, and rediscovered my love of all things miniature.
We've always had dolls houses and other miniatures in the family. Currently I have a small scale gipsy caravan that my BJD bunnies inhabit - with all my work stuff I don't have room at the moment for anything bigger.
My miniature paintings have been making their way around the world to several states in America, and also Australia and Holland so far. It will be interesting to see how far and wide they can travel.
I have decided to call my dancing rabbits The Ballet BunBuns.
The now have their own Facebookpage: http://www.facebook.com/TheBalletBunBuns
You can see new pictures of them there as they are finished, and also find out what products they will be available on. My badge machine will be arriving tomorrow, so I am doing some pictures which will suit the
I’ve been calling them the ‘Ballet Bunnies’, simply because they didn’t have a name when I started painting them, and that’s what everyone started calling them LOL
But there are a lot of ‘Ballet Bunnies’ on the net, even a book called ‘Ballet Bunnies’, so I want something a bit different.
My first choice is ‘Chubby Bubbies’ (it’s what I call my real bunnies), and someone else suggested ‘Boogie Bunnies’ as they all do different types of dance.
What do you reckon to those names? Or does anyone else have any suggestions?
.....I think I'm getting there!
I finally have a couple of items listed for sale, the links to my shops are done.....but if anyone would like to check the site out and give me feedback, point out typos and things I've missed etc. then I would be very appreciative.
Thank you x
I have listed my first batch of 'Ballet Bunny' magnets for sale - yay! They are available via this website, and also in my Etsy and Folksy shops.
I'm hoping I can book a market stall or small craft fair to be able to sell some of my work directly to the public - I just need a good supply of stock first.
I also need to get myself organised to see if any local shops would be interested in my items - I used to be good at approaching people for things like this, but I am very out of practise.....
I have finally got the first of my fridge magnets together!
I've had the various components for a while, but haven't had the chance to just sit and do the pictures for them until today.
They feature a few of my dancing bunnies. I have printed the pictures out in a small size, laminated them, and added a strip of magnet to the back.
I'm really pleased with how they turned out.
Wow - I finally have my website published!!!!
I have been frustrated for weeks, having designed a full website and not being able to publish it. Tonight I had a strop, deleted the whole thing, set up a basic layout (hence all the blank pages LOL), thought I would see what happened when I pressed 'publish'......and it worked!!!!
I'll be adding to the pages over the next few days and weeks, in between painting and crafting.
I'm working on some fridge magnets, bookmarks, and cards, as well as my larger paintings. Some will be featuring my Ballet Bunnies, which I'm very excited about.
